The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Samuel Kazimba Mugalu, has urged young people to embrace and spread love as a deliberate effort to heal and rebuild broken communities.
Speaking on Tuesday at the opening of the 9th Provincial Annual Youth and Students Convention at St. James Cathedral Ruharo, Kazimba told the youth that their mission should go beyond participation and focus on transforming society through acts of love.
He encouraged them to promote the gospel of love as the “uniform of missionary leadership,” saying young people should not wait to be sent but proactively reach out, especially in places where “holiness is desperately needed,” including slum areas where hope is scarce and poverty remains deep.

Kazimba further challenged the youth to become motivators who inspire others to hope again, adding that restoring broken lives, families, and communities can be achieved through four key actions:
At the same event, Karuhanga Melvin, Executive Officer of Bluecity Investments, advised the youth to maintain discipline, undergo regular health check-ups, and avoid harmful habits such as smoking and excessive alcohol consumption.
The Host Bishop, Rt. Rev. Sheldon Mwesigwa, announced the reduction of entry fees to the East African Revival Mission from Shs 3,000 to Shs 1,000 to enable more youth to attend and learn about the revival movement that reached Ankole in 1936.
