Women entrepreneurs in Ibanda District have taken a major step toward formalizing their businesses after undergoing training in good manufacturing and hygiene practices aimed at meeting standards set by the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS).

The one-day training, held at the district headquarters on Friday, brought together at least seven women groups under the Uganda Women Entrepreneurship Programme (UWEP). Participants were equipped with practical skills in product development and quality management key requirements for certification and access to competitive markets.

UWEP Focal Point Person Leticia Ahimbisibwe said the training is aimed at addressing long-standing barriers that have limited women entrepreneurs from expanding their businesses.
