Zayn Malik Reportedly Banned From Releasing New Music for Two Years
Zayn Malik has been rumored to plan a solo career after leaving One Direction, but fans apparently can’t get anything official from him in the near future. According to British rapper Mic Righteous whom he collaborated with on the recently-leaked cover of “No Type”, the singer is banned from releasing any solo music for the next two years.
Mic Righteous made the claim after Naughty Boy said that neither of him nor Zayn had anything to do with the cover, which arrived via SoundCloud and has now been removed. “[T]hat had nothing to do with me or Zayn, something was stolen from the hard drive that had nothing to do with the rapper involved,” the producer tweeted earlier this week.
Responding to Naughty Boy’s statement, Mic Righteous took to Facebook and posted a lengthy message insisting that they recorded the track with Zayn a while ago. He further claimed that Naughty Boy denied his and Zayn’s involvement because the latter’s label didn’t allow him to put out new music for two years.
