Woman delivers a baby girl on the roadside in Mbarara

Monic Katukore,a resident of Katete ward in Nyamitanga division Mbarara Municipality and her baby girl are in a stable condition in the hospital after delivering on the roadside with help of Good Samaritans as she walked to Mbarara Municipal Health Centre IV today May 18, 2020.

She was seen by people going for short call who found her sleeping near a latrine and they called some ladies who brought the clothes for the baby before heading to Mbarara Municipal H C IV.

According to Sarah Atuheirwe,a midwife at M M H C IV, the baby wasn’t properly worked on and by locals but she was in a stable state by press time.

Sarah expressed concern over how COVID_19 lockdown and curfew have caused suffering of patients and other people in need of medical attention.
