UPDF to retire Over 90 Officers in Mbarara
The Uganda People’s Defense Forces 2nd division in Mbarara will today retire 91 generals, including senior officers, junior Services and guaranty militants in a scientific ceremony at Makenke barracks.
The UPDF 2nd Division spokesperson Maj Charles Kabona has confirmed the retirement and said it falls under the normal discharge schedule.
The retirees received discharge certificates from the Chief Guest, 2nd Division Commander Brigadier Hon. Francis Takirwa.
Maj Charles Kabona says the retirement is based on age, rank and years of service adding that all those that have served the country should continue spreading the good work to those that want to join security.

In his remarks, the Deputy RDC Mbarara Emmy Kateera Turyabagyenyi hailed the retirees for the work they have done for the country, but warned them of involving themselves in violence during elections.
