UPDF boasts of frienshly co-existance with Civilians, as it celebrates Tarehe Sita,
The Uganda peoples defence force has continued to ensure friendly co-existance with civilians and several measures are being established to maintain it.
This has been sounded by the UPDF 2nd division Makenke spokesperson, Capt. Stephen Tumwesigye in Mbarara as the division joins others to commemorate the 38th TAREHE SITA anniversary. The national function is underway at Kitgum Core Primary Teachers college under the theme :UPDF and the people: Consolidating peace for sustainable development and prosperity
Soldiers under the 2nd division have matched around Mbarara town before starting the function at Makenke army barracks.
According to Capt Stephen, the UPDF is always committed to bring to justice any armed office, who in any way goes in the community and commits a crime against the civilians.
The Uganda peoples defence Forces – UPDF started as a Popular Resistance Army in 1980, became National Resistance Army in 1986 and later UPDF in 1995 during the constitution amendment.
