UPC ready participate in the coming general elections
The Uganda People’s Congress has said its ready to participate in the coming general elections once organized by government.
While appearing before the parliamentary Legal Affairs Committee to answer to the concerns in the new revised electoral commission road map that requires candidates to scientifically/digitally carry out their campaigns,UPC president Jimmy Akena said that though there are some difficult activities to be fulfilled in the new road map, the party will be ready to participate in the general elections once organized.
Meanwhile, UPC becomes the first opposition party to agree to the elections under scientific method.
However, Akena noted that the government needs to rectify some few activities like on digital campaigning which he said may be challenging to the local government candidates who may not financially be able to pay for media.
