Ugandans need a government that benefits them – Lt. Gen. (Rtd) Henry Tumukunde.
Former Minister of National Security Lt. Gen. (Rtd) Henry Tumukunde has revealed that all Ugandans need a government that benefits them in various genuine ways.
Mr. Tumukunde, who has already declared his 2021 Presidential bid on Wednesday March 11,2020 in an exclusive interview told 91.2 www.croozefm.com that people in areas like Bushenyi,Mbarara,Ntungamo,Kiruhura,Isingiro,others in southwestern Uganda and the entire country have the capacity to start up income earning activities but President Museveni’s 34-year old government has not entirely empowered them through industries,agriculture and other ways.
When asked why he has decided to contest as the President of the Republic of Uganda,the intelligent Tumukunde highlighted that he has not just slept and dreamt,he has been on the move for so long.
On having worked with government for about 13 years, heading the special task force for Mr Museveni’s 2001 re-election,and being suspected to be connected to first family, Gen Tumukunde put it clear that he is neither First Lady nor President’s relative.
‘They have written books, no one indicates me as a relative. But if true, though not, what’s wrong with opposing him! Even you and your father can’t totally agree,’ he said.
The optimist Tumukunde challenged everyone not be discouraged, and he encouraged Ugandans including the opposition sides to believe in change because it is possible, and now, not yesterday.
