The Pharmaceutical Society of Uganda wants government to review existing drug trials data on chloroquine , hydrox-chloroquine and azithromycin combination and assess its effectiveness in managing COVID -19 disease
This after an increase in the number of Ugandans storming pharmacies for chloroquine following reports that it helps in managing covid -19
Samuel Opio is the Secretary Pharmaceutical Society of Uganda, in a statement said that the country should assess capacity for Uganda to import or locally produce required medicine.
They also want government to provide and widely disseminate care and treatment protocols for the first aid management of any suspected coronavirus cases at a health facility
