Uganda receives ambulances to fight Ebola
The UKAID and World food program have donated five ambulances to the government of Uganda, to reinforce the efforts in the fight against Ebola, which has been in theneighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo(DRC)
The Ambulance were handed over yesterday to the Ministry of health, at its headquarters in Wandegeya, Kampala, and were received by the health minister, Jane Ruth Achieng.
El Khidir Daloum, the representative of WorldFood Programe in Uganda, and Peter West, theBritish High Commissioner to Uganda pledged their two organisations’ commitment to work together with the ministry of health, to prevent Ebola from sprteading here, from theneighbouring Congo.
Minister Achieng while receiving the ambulances noted that the vehicles will be handed to five districts in western Uganda that neighbor Congo such as Ntoroko, Bnyangabuand Kasese among others, noting that they are at the highest risk of the deadly disease.
