Uganda put among top 19 countries to overpower COVID-19
Uganda has been put among the top 19 countries to overpower the virus that causes COVID-19 by the Lancet Medical Journal, as it ranked 91 countries around the world based on the number of new cases per day averaged during August. The report was submitted to the United Nations.
Overall, 19 countries that were able to suppress the virus include Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Cambodia, China, Myanmar, Malaysia, New Zealand, Uganda, Togo, Pakistan, Latvia, Rwanda and Luxembourg.
Results of COVID-19 tests done on 23 September, 2020 confirmed 185 new cases bringing cumulative cases to 7,064, recoveries are 3,226 and 1 new death registered from Kisoro brought total COVID-19 deaths to 70 as of today September 25,2020.
