‘We came from Mengo to work on a farm – disputed land, and the one that brought us is called Justus. As I was working, a group of people came and asked me who had allowed me to work on this farm…they hit me on the head with a stick and my colleagues ran away,’ one of the victims narrated.
Another bleeding man alleged that he was beaten and his teeth removed by Sam Kutesa’s people (soldiers) using a nutcracker.
‘He is a murderer, don’t vote his daughter,’ the man cried.
Meanwhile, the NRM electoral commission chairman, Dr. Tanga Odoi has threatened to call off Sembabule primaries and the constituencies remain without flag-bearers if violence escalates despite heavy security deployment.
For Bukanga (26 villages) in Isingiro district and Nyabushozi (28 villages) in Kiruhura district, fresh primaries are slated for October 2, 2020.
