Students in border districts worried on how to apply for private sponsorship
The Minister of State for Higher Education, John Muyingo has revealed plans to probe reports that some students in border districts still under lockdown haven’t been in position to apply on private sponsorship for the 2020/2021 academic year.
This follows a complaint raised by Anthony Akol (Kilak North) who informed Parliament that Amuru district has been under lockdown, but Gulu University is doing selections for those joining University but the process has left out many students who had hoped to join the University.
In his response about the matter Minister Muyingo told Parliament that although applications and admissions of Government sponsored students had been completed and said that no student should be disadvantaged by the ongoing situation in the country.
