Students Criticize Government Over Closure of Schools
A section of students has criticized the government for closing schools and they fail to cater for other social-economic activities but only focus on academics.
Rodrick Muhumwire, a student from Mbarara high school says that even though the government has introduced e-learning and provided learning materials, it is not enough to cater for all students.
Muhumwire adds that education materials that were sent to various districts are unfortunately not enough given that e-learning cannot be accessed by learners in remote areas.
Adonia Musigiire, another student also from Mbarara High School notes that they faced many challenges during this lockdown such as early marriages mostly in girls, increased street kids, which he faults the government for not doing enough to control.
Adonia adds that government needs to think harder and plan better for the education sector in Uganda.
