Spurs will make Gareth Bale to Man United transfer ‘very, very difficult’, says Andre Villas-Boas
Love for United? Gareth Bale’s Tottenham future will be the subject of much speculation this summer.
Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas has vowed to make life as difficult as possible for new Manchester United boss David Moyes if he comes calling for Gareth Bale.
Amid rumours that the current Everton coach is already drawing up a summer transfer wish-list that includes the Welsh wing wizard, Villas-Boas has sought to dissuade Moyes from making a move.
‘I’m pretty sure that whatever David does in the market will be excellent. But to get a player of Gareth’s dimension is firstly not in our interests but also very, very difficult,’ Villas-Boas said.
Moyes is sure to be linked to a number of players between now and the end of the transfer window in the summer as he looks to put his own stamp on a club dominated by Sir Alex Ferguson for more than a quarter of a century.
And, having been accustomed to living on a relatively meagre playing budget while in charge of the Toffees, Moyes looks set to be handed a much more significant kitty at Old Trafford.
However, the biggest headlines could be made by the fate of Wayne Rooney – already being linked with moves to Chelsea, Arsenal or several other big clubs around Europe.
