Sheema Municipality election case to start on Wednesday in Mbarara
High court sitting in Mbarara has today commenced hearing of an election case, in which FDC’s Virginia Mugyenyi Plan wants to challenge the victory of Minister Elioda Tumwesigye in the recently held Sheema Municipality election.
However, the case couldn’t proceed with the presiding judge, justice Flavian Jija informing the two parties that Justice Dr. Andrew Bashaija handling their matter was not present in court, and adjourned the case to this Wednesday 9, 2019.
Both Dr. Elioda and Virginia were present in court together with their lawyers Kandebe Ntambirweki of Ntambirweki, Kandebe & Co. Advocates John Isabirye of Isabirye and Company Advocates respectively.
Speaking to Croozefm reporter outside court, Virginia said she wants to compel the electoral commission to review the process and to avoid future electoral commission.
