Sheema man hangs himself after murdering his wife for going to church
Police in Sheema district are investigating following the death of a 57-year-old man identified as James Ndyabahika who hanged himself after chopping his wife to death over family wrangles and what he thought it was disrespect.
Preliminary investigations indicate that James ended his life when angry residents were hunting for him after he killed his wife Lovence Kyomuringa,40, all residents of Rwabuza Shuuku town council Sheema south constituency.
According to the L C 1 chairman Fred Borekyererwa, the sad incident happened on Friday, January 1, 2021 when the woman returned from attending a church service ushering which the man had stopped her not to.
One of the deceased’s 7 children said that his father has been a cruel man who initiated family arguments without a tangible reason especially under the influence of alcohol.
The bodies of the deceased were later taken to Shuuku health center IV for postmortem.
