Security officials disperse Kabale mourners
Security officials yesterday dispersed a burial of the late, Amon Paddy Amanya, a businessman in Kabale town for defying President Yoweri Museveni’s directive on corona virus. Amanya was found killed by yet to be identified assailants on Tuesday and his body dumped on the roadside in Kitumba Sub County, Kabale district.
Amanya’s body was taken to Kabale regional referral hospital mortuary until Friday evening when it was taken home in Bugongi, as they waited for Johnson Bakashaba the Bishop of Revival Outreach Ministries Bakashaba, who was in United States of America to preside over the funeral service.
Yesterday, hundreds of mourners gathered at Emmaus Bile School playground in Bugongi, Northern division and held the usual burial service. However, during the service, heavily armed security officials led by Kabale Resident District Commissioner RDC Darius Nadinda and the Kabale District LC5 Chairperson Patrick Besigye Keihwa, stormed the funeral service and demanded that they leave immediately.
On seeing security officials Bakashaba took off fearing arrest.
