Security cameras to be installed in the Ntungamo Municipality.
The Ntungamo police have secured security cameras to be installed in the Ntungamo Municipality and other major town councils in the district in a bid to fight the increase in crime.
Police said that 09 closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras will be installed on main streets and junctions to help security agencies to monitor what will be going on in the town.
While speaking to the press held at Ntungamo central police station, the Ntungamo district police commander SP Katwesiime Damian said that the installation phase will start mid December this year.
This follows the recently been increasingly cases of insecurities where at least seven armed robberies take place in a month of October.
According to statistics show that in this year so far 62 people were murdered, 77 cases of defilement who were defiled by old people, 13 cases of rape, 132 cases of house breaking and rampant cases of threatening violence were reported .
