Byamugisha was a son to Julius Kanasara and Mrs. Jetirda Kanasara who are locked down in Kiruhura district but crying for justice of their innocent son.
Human rights defender Aggrey Ahimbisibwe equally wrote to the regional state attorney Ntungamo seeking for justice to prevail in this very matter.
“Nobody is allowed to kill and no one is above the law. The whole LC II chairperson had a mandate to call any other member on his LC II committee but he instead invited a group of thugs known as Bishaka group known of terrorizing people in the village who immediately started the beating” says Ahimbisibwe
The case is registered at Ntungamo CPS under NTU CRB 551/2020 as investigations continue.
Other suspects under their ‘Bishaka’ group that has reportedly been terrorizing people in Ntungamo include; Christopher Tayebwa, Julius Mwijukye Rwahura, Rwahura Abesigamukama, Mucunguzi, Yoramu Nasasira, Kiiza, Jovanal Buhwezi, Boyi Kakusi, Rwomushana, Gerald Twongi, Richard Kabaharara and Singura Rwahura.
These were tipped by teacher Patrick Ndibarema who came running and grabbed the deceased for tress passing through Igorora P/S where he was suspected to have been stealing a sugar cane.
However, Jovanal Buhwezi had earlier accused the deceased of stealing his sheep and ordered for his lyching.
Byamugisha was later pushed to the nearby bush where he was picked by crime preventers and taken to Nyakyera health centre III where he died upon his arrival.
He was hurriedly buried but police later intervened and exhumed the body and subjected it to a postmortem which revealed that he succumbed to injuries inflicted through beating.
The suspects were summoned to police twice but declined to show up and police launched their hunt but have all since fled from the said village.
Meanwhile area MP Moses Kahiima who is also accused of having a hand in the lynching of the suspect accusing him for not supporting him during the 2016 elections, has vehemently denied the allegations.
Hon Kahiima instead blames his woes on political opponents who reportedly want to destroy his image at such a critical time when he is seeking re-election.
