Rubindi Health Center III Receives Ambulance
As a way of improving health services in Kashari, the secretary for finance and administration Mbarara district Mr. Bazil Batariganya Rwankwene has donated a fully fledged intensive care unit ambulance worth over 100 million shillings.
Handing over the modern ambulance to the Mbarara District Health Officer Dr Peter Ssebutinde at Rubindi health center III in Kashari north, Batariganya said that this will help in transportation of patients with emergency medical attention especially the expectant mothers to control maternal and child morality.
Bataringaya explained that he decided to buy the ambulance because of challenges of Covid-19 lockdown.
He says that during the lockdown, he assisted 198 women to deliver and only three were unsuccessful in 29 days.
Bataringaya says it was very difficult for mothers to access timely health services.
He clarified that he as Bataringaya had offered his own double cabin pickup but later an unidentified person reported to security that he was transporting people at night(who were expectant mothers) and he later was stopped.
He said the unfortunate part of it, suspected criminals poured salt in its engine causing technical damage.
