Prof. Nawangwe to head World Universities Network
Makerere University Vice Chancellor, Prof Barnabas Nawangwe has been appointed a Director of the Worldwide Universities Network based in the United Kingdom.
The World University Network is a leading global higher education and research network made up of 22 Universities in 12 countries on six continents, which drives research collaboration and addresses issues of global significance.
In a tweet, Nawangwe says this is a very important recognition for Makerere University as one of the top research institutions in the world and he believes that it will spur further research at Uganda’s oldest university.
This comes barely two months after Makerere was voted among the top five universities in Africa and top 500 globally.
