Presidential Candidate Patrick Amurita Oboi and his ‘boda guy’ in trouble for knocking Mbarara DPC

The Forum for Democratic Change-FDC Presidential Candidate Eng. Patrick Amuriat Oboi and his ‘boda guy’ are in trouble for knocking Mbarara District Police Commander-DPC SP John Rutaagira on Wednesday, December 2,2020 in Buremba Kakoba Mbarara city.
Police statement indicates that Oboi started his Rwizi region campaign rallies in Ntungamo district on the 01/12/2020 where he had three rallies in Rwahi,Rwashamire and Kyamate accompanied by Col. (RTD) Kizza Besigye and later he moved to Rwampara district where he was not allowed to hold any rally because it was late.
On the 02/12/2020 Hon. Patrick Amuriat Oboi moved to Isingiro district as scheduled to hold rallies in Kajaho,Endizi,Kabingo-Isingiro town council and Kaberebere town which was successfully secured.
Mbarara was his final destination of the day but security had earlier guided his team and agreed on the routes to be used when accessing the city, which were Nyamitanga, Ruti through Mbarara bypass to Buffalo roundabout then to Kakyeka playground where his rally was to be before moving to Bwizibwera in Kashari in Mbarara district.
He defied this and opted to use porous routes from Isingiro district through Buremba road in Kakoba Division where he was intercepted at Bishop Stuart University-BSU around 4 pm with intentions to go through the main business centre of Mbarara city.
Rwizi region police spokesperson, ASP Samson Kasasira says as security tried to engage Oboi, he decided to jump out of his car onto a boda boda that was part of his convoy.
DPC Rutaagira in the process of stopping the, a scuffle ensued and the Bajaj boxer motorcycle registration number UEX 650 D that was carrying Oboi knocked the DPC to the ground though he didn’t sustain any serious injuries.
Police in Mbarara is now looking for the rider on charges of careless driving and causing an accident under the TRSA, Mbarara CPS TSD10/03/12/2020.
In the same regard, a 36-yr-old businessman identified as Mr.Nasuru Basarirwa from Nateete Kampala was arrested on the same day on charges of disobedience of lawful orders for participating in the protest but was released on police bond yesterday 03/12/2020.
Hon. Patrick Amuriat Oboi has also been charged with Disobedience of lawful orders VIDE Mbarara CRB1586.
Oboi yesterday campaigned in Kabwohe, Sheema where he pledged to revive Banyankore Kweterana Cooperative Union,among other issues and he is campaigning in Bushenyi and Rubirizi today.
