President Museveni Won’t Address The Nation Today – Find Out Why
President Museveni will not address the country today, Tuesday, August 25 as earlier communicated and anticipated amid fears of surging Coronavirus infections.
According to information released by State House on Tuesday morning, the President is still busy to deal with the address.
The Minister for Information and National Guidance Judith Nabakooba had indicated the president would announce the next measures the country is putting together to halt the COVID-19 infections surge.
However, President Museveni’s Senior Press Secretary Mr. Don Wanyama said that the said address was not on the President’s program tonight.
In a WhatsApp exchange, Mr. Wanyama said: “We don’t have it on the schedule yet”.
Meanwhile, a source close to the Presidency says the President was still busy putting together demands by Ugandans on Social Media and that he could only be available to address “us when things are bale to add up”.
Former presidential candidate Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye on Monday said that another lockdown is desirable but no longer useful to the country.
“We are now on our own. I have been telling people to work on their immunity. Don’t neglect the use of masks. For the mask to be useful, everybody must put them on correctly, covering the nose and mouth. Hygiene is a necessity”.
