Police confirms Journalist-cum-Pastor Joseph Kabuleta’s arrest over abusive language against President Museveni.
Uganda Police has confirmed the arrest of Journalist-cum-Pastor Joseph Kabuleta over offensive communication against the person of President Yoweri Museveni.
Kabuleta who has of recent gained popularity for using social media to criticise the regime, was picked from Drew & Jacs Patisserie Forest Mall, Lugogo in Kampala, ahead of his evening Watchman Ministries’ fellowship held at UMA Upper Gardens on Friday.
Witnesses say Kabuleta was enjoying tea with friends at Drew & Jacs Patisserie in Lugogo when plain clothed security agents picked him at around 5pm and bundled him into a waiting Toyota Wish, reg no. UBB 459D.
According to a statement issued by the Police spokesman Fred Enanga, Kabuleta repeatedly posted grossly offensive messages, under “Joseph Kabuleta Weekly Rant Returns,” referring to the Fountain of Honor as “a Gambler, Thief and Liar” in breach of Section 25 of the Computer Misuse Act, 2011.
Kabuleta’s arrest comes a few days after he published a post on facebook titled “MAFIA EMPIRE AND THE TRANSITION,” where he argued that it was now clear that President’s Museveni’s son, Lieutenant General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has started positioning himself a Museveni’s heir.
Kabuleta has in the past few months been very critical of several leaders on Uganda’s political, economic and social scene.
