POA resumes campaigns, Bobi and Muntu still in western Uganda
The Forum for Democratic Change-FDC presidential candidate Patrick Amuriat Oboi-POA today resumes his campaigns after a brief suspension following yesterday’s accident that claimed 2 of his supporters and 15 admitted with injuries in northern Uganda.
The driver of a truck that was carrying his public address system and supporters lost control and overturned at Panymur in Pakwach district.
He was unable to complete his campaigns in Pakwachi and Nebbi, now heading to Kiryadongo for his first rally followed by Masindi today and Hoima city tomorrow where he’ll launch the FDC 2021-26 manifesto.
In other camps; NRM’s Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Kaguta Museveni is still in Bugisu eastern Uganda, NUP’s Robert Kyagulanyi Bobi Wine heads to Kagadi, Kibaale and Hoima western Uganda, DP’s Nobert Mao goes to Omoro northern Uganda, ANT’s Mugisha Muntu is in Kamwenge and Kitagwenda western Uganda, Henry Tumukunde goes to Arua, Obongi and Adjuman northern Uganda, among other.
Three people were yesterday injured as security operatives fired tear gas and live bullets to disperse Bobi Wine supporters in Kasese.
Bobi Wine who campaigned in Bundibugyo,Bunyangabu and Kasese promised to construct a cocoa factory to process chocolate in Bundibugyo district.
11 candidates are vying for the presidency; presidential and parliamentary campaigns will close on Januray 12,2021 followed by voting on January 14,2021.
