Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang returns ahead of Gabon’s trip to Burundi
Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been included in Gabon’s 23-man squad for their decisive final Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Burundi.
Gabon coach Daniel Cousin announced the squad that must beat Burundi in Bujumbura on 23 March to reach this year’s finals in Egypt.
A draw for Burundi will be enough to see them qualify for their first ever Nations Cup finals.
The Arsenal star, 29, missed Gabon’s last two matches against South Sudan and Mali despite originally being named in both squads, Gabon won 1-0 against South Sudan and lost to Mali by the same margin.
The Panthers have collected seven points in their qualifying campaign and must beat Burundi to move to ten points, Burundi have nine points, while Mali have already qualified with eleven points, meanwhile bottom side south Sudan are yet to register any point.
