Parents stranded after their 13 year old son went missing in Kabale
A couple in Kanyankwazi cell, Nyakagyera parish Kyanamira Sub County in Kabale district is stranded after their 13 year old son went missing on Friday 11.
The victim has been identified as Samson Nyamugasira, a primary six pupil at Premier School Kabale located in Kabura Trading Centre, Muyumbu parish, Kyanamira Sub County in Kabale district. Nyamugasira is a son to Sam Betunga and Charity Betunga both residents of Kanyankwazi cell, Nyakagyera parish, Kyanamira Sub County, in Kabale district.
According to Betunga, his son went missing on Friday 11 when he left home for School and never returned. Betunga added that after waiting for the child to return in vain, he called the school head teacher, Bless Owoyesigire inquiring on the where about of the child but was
informed that the boy did not report to school on the fateful day.
Betunga said he later on the following day Saturday reported a case of a missing person at Kabale police station under file reference number CD REF44/12/10/2019.
The school’s head teacher, Bless Owoyesigire said that Nyamugasira was a known absentee at the school and on the fateful day, he never reported to school which easily made the school administration to believe that he was absent as usual. However, the school’s director Andrew Twongyeirwe who described Nyamugasira’s missing as unfortunate, adding that they are trying to engage the pupils at the school as well as their parents and the general public to help in identifying the whereabouts of Nyamugasira.
The Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson Elly Maate said that police have already started investigations in the matter. He appealed to everyone who could have any information to the whereabouts of the child to volunteer it to the family members or police.
