Over 600 Nyamityobora-Mbarara traders count losses after fire outbreak
Police in Mbarara have started investigating the fire outbreak that has left over 600 Nyamityobora Market (Kijingu) traders counting losses in Mbarara City this morning around 4:30am.
One of the private security guards (name withheld) claims the fire was started by some unknown people with ill intentions because it was spreading from different sides of the market.
According to the market traders’ chairman Mr Wilson Rwankore, they have four private security guards usually deployed to provide security but wondered how the fire was started without their notice.
Rwizi region police spokesperson, Samson Kasasira said no arrests by press time as investigations continue to establish cause of the fire.
