Over 200 COVID-19 cases handled at Mbarara regional referral hospital
Mbarara regional referral hospital has so far received and handled 246 patients of whom 196 have recovered from the virus and are stable while other 96 patients are receiving treatment from home based care and 29 are still critical.
Speaking to Crooze fm, Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital Director Dr. Celestine Barigye says the hospital now has 40 patients with 10 admitted including health workers, and the hospital has since March registered 9 deaths.
He adds they have started the construction of the isolation center which will help in transferring most of the patients.
The public has been urged to continue following the Standard Operating Procedures-SOPs; wear masks, wash hands, social distancing, among others.
Nationwide, 5 COVID-19 deaths were confirmed yesterday, bringing Uganda’s total COVID-19 deaths to 186.
