Over 1,200 teenagers impregnated in Mbarara during the lockdown

Parents, guardians and all stakeholders have a big role to play in curbing down teenage pregnancy especially during this COVID-19 lockdown.
In Mbarara district western Uganda, March-September 2020 statistics obtained by Crooze Fm indicate that 1,203 teenagers between 15-19 years were impregnated and the cases are increasing.
The district health officer-DHO Dr. Peter Sebutinde recently revealed that many children and parents/guardians lack reproductive health besides some groups of people like the clergy opposing family planning methods,paving the way for unwanted pregnancies in western Uganda and Uganda as a whole.
He implored the entire public to seek guidance on various ways of family planning to avoid such cases.
