Over 100 Homes Destroyed by Hail storm in Kasese
Heavy hailstorm that hit Kahendero parish in Muhokya sub county Kasese District last night has left over 100 houses ravaged and thousands homeless.
The collapse of houses and homestead toilets in Kahendero has created panic among the community members who fear that they are likely to face Cholera outbreak.
The LC 1 chairperson, for Kahendero I Juma Walube says the 40% latrine coverage has returned to zero putting the lives of the people at risk since all feacal matter is directly pouring into the lake Edward.
Dan Katungole, the chairman LC 1 for Kahendeo II, told journalists that only a total number of houses and latrines so far identified are 120 but the number is likely to increase, adding that all home properties were swept away.
He further disclosed that a total of 700 people have no shelter adding that their only hope for the government too intervene.
