Ntungamo municipal H C IV closed after staff tested positive for COVID-19
Health services have come to stand-still following the closure of Ntungamo municipal Health Center IV in Ntungamo district after one of its staff tested positive for COVID-19.
The staff is a nurse and her first contact, her husband who works at Ntungamo district local government also tested positive.
According to George Bakunda the Ntungamo Resident District Commissioner-RDC, all the workers have been under self-quarantine in their respective homes since 27th, Oct 2020 and the results of the two cases were among those released last weekend.
RDC said that the facility that serves Ntungamo municipality and the neighboring counties will be under lockdown for 14 days after which it will be fumigated.
Dr. Richard Bakamuturaki, the Ntungamo District Health Officer (DHO) said that Ntungamo has so far confirmed seven community cases of whom three are staff of Ntungamo local government while four are security personnel.
Nationally as of today October 30, 2020,results of COVID-19 tests done on 28th October 2020 confirm 434 new cases bringing Uganda’s cumulative confirmed cases to 12,201; 108 deaths and 7,461 recoveries.
