NRM Asks Police to Arrest Politicians Flouting Covid-19 Guidelines
The National Resistance Movement-NRM party Secretary General, Justine Kasule Lumumba has asked the Uganda Police leadership to arrest politicians found violating the COVID19 preventive guidelines issued by the Health Ministry.
Lumumba says police should not just look on as NRM members hold public rallies and processions against the government guidelines on gatherings and social distancing and that any police officer who fails to enforce them should instead be arrested.
She wants the police leadership to arrest any District Police Commander who fails to ensure that no such gatherings or public rallies are held.
Lumumba’s comments follow a video showing supporters of Koboko Municipality MP, Evelyn Anite in a procession in violation of the Health Ministry guidelines.
