NRM anti age limit removal MPs refute claims of meeting President Museveni to apologize
The NRM anti age limit removal MPs are challenging the party chief whip Ruth Nankabirwa to provide evidence to the rumors she is circulating that these want to meet president Museveni to apologize for their decision of voting against lifting of the age limit.
This has come up after Nankabirwa told the press today morning that the 27 MPs that voted against age limit are seeking for audience from president Museveni to apologize over the issue.
Speaking in a joint press conference at parliament, the MPs including kasanda North’s Patrick Nsamba, Kumi woman mp Monica Amoding, Mukono South’s Muyanja Ssenyonga and Manjiya county mp John Baptist Nambeshe, all disassociated themselves from the allegation.
The MPs say they have no reason to apologies and are not regretting their decisions of voting against the lifting of the age limit from the Constitution because this was the views of their electorates.
Monica Amoding says they are free to meet the president as NRM mps, but the reasons to the meeting have to be very clear and that of age limit can’t be inclusive
