Notorious armed robber gunned down, three netted.
Southwestern Uganda – Police flying squad in Mbarara has tracked and netted criminals believed to be leaders of a criminal gang operating in areas of Rwizi region and Greater Bushenyi region.
This gang last week, on a gun point, robbed 24 million Uganda shillings at Bam petrol station in Kabwohe town, Sheema district.
Mbarara police flying squad Unit, helped by flying squad from Kampala tracked and killed one of them Mbaine Yonasani aged 40, from Bushenyi Ishaka, and other 3 arrested.
He was gunned down today afternoon during an operation in Nyakaizi cell, Kakoba division, Mbarara Municipality, and an SMG gun number UG PSO 340235607221 with 2 rounds of ammunition was recovered.
Meanwhile, the Rwizi region police spokesperson, Samson Kasasira says three other suspects, Nyonyintono Abbey ,Kato Patrick and Odeke Hussein were arrested, and transported with their gun back to Sheema where the offence was committed, while the body of Mbaine has been taken to Mbarara referal hospital.
Greater Bushenyi spokesperson Martial Tumusime has added that they will be charged with aggravated robbery.
