Nomination of aspiring MPs postponed to 15th and 16th October
The Electoral Commission (EC) has revised the programme for the nomination of candidates for Parliamentary Elections 2021, from Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th October 2020, to Thursday 15th and Friday 16th October 2020.
The Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon Rebecca Kadaga had earlier revealed that nomination of aspiring MPs was postponed to 19th and 20th October 2020 but the EC Ag. spokesperson Paul Bukenya later revealed that new date is 15th and 16th October.
Speaking during the national prayer breakfast held this afternoon at State House Entebbe, speaker Kadaga revealed that the new date was to be officially announced by the Electoral Commission.
Deputy Attorney General Jackson Kafuuzi had informed parliament yesterday that the commission could not extend the nomination exercise because it would affect the road-map, election dates and printing of ballots.
