Museveni Warns: “We Will Deal With Mbabazi Thugs”
Following the incident in which Go Forward Presidential candidate Amama Mbabazi’s supporters beat their NRM colleagues in Ntugamo last week, President Museveni has warned he is going to deal with what he called ‘thugs’ in the enemy camp.
Addressing journalists Sunday afternoon at the Mbale State Lodge, Museveni said it was unfortunate that supporters from one group could attack their colleagues from another camp which he said cannot be tolerated under his regime.
“In Ntungamo thugs attacked NRM supporters but they are being rounded up. You don’t attack fellow Ugandans. You come and attack people like that idiot I saw beating people with a club,” Museveni said.
A furious Museveni said they would leave no stone unturned in regard to dealing with culprits, whom he referred to as someone who dares “touch the anus of a leopard.”
Museveni said a lot of things had been said about the ruling NRM party and its supporters but noted they had not reacted in any way. He added that the acts by Mbabazi supporters were barbaric that would not go unpunished.
