Museveni expected in Kyankwanzi as NRM Mps assemble
President Museveni is today expected in Kyankwanzi, to open the 8-day NRM Caucus retreat at the National Leadership Training Institute, which starts today.
The NRM Mps headed to Kyankwanzi yesterday, where they are expected to among other issues discuss ways on how to develop the country’s economy, the road to 2021 elections, and the proposal to have President Museveni as a sole party candidate is also thought to be among the issues for debate.
Last month, the NRM Central Executive Committee retreat which sat at ChobeSafari lodge in Nwoyadistrict, called by Party Chairman, YoweriMuseveni agreed to recommend to the membership of the party and its organs that His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni continues leading the Movement and the Country in 2021 and beyond.
Meanwhile, the rebel NRM rebel Mps who were blocked from attending the party retreat are vowing to sue the party leadership for denying them their right to associate.
According to the NRM Caucus Publicity Secretary, Margaret Muhanga, these so-called rebel MPs have been barred from attending the meeting because they have shown a tendency to be disruptive.
These including Lwemiya County MP, Theodore Ssekikubo, Barnabas Tinkasimire, James Achidri, Patrick Nsamba and John Baptist Nambeshe told the media at Parliament that this form of unconstitutionalismwithin the party can’t be left unchallenged.
