Mps Refuse New York Ranking of President Museveni Among Best African Leaders
A report by economic researchers from the New York University indicating that President Yoweri Museveni is one of the best leaders in the World has attracted mixed reactions from members of parliament.
According to a report released by New York University Economics Professor, William Easterly and World Bank Economist Steven Pennings, President Museveni is among the best leaders on the list of leaders estimated to have had a significantly positive effect on their countries’ economic growth.
Some Members of Parliament we talked to, congratulated the president over this recognition while others criticized the report ranking as they expressed doubts over the methodology of the research.
Dokolo County MP Paul Amoru says that President Museveni has worked for this ranking by offering the sacrificial leadership not only in Uganda but the entire region which deserve to be celebrated.
Kassanda County MP Patrick Nsamba says that rankings placing President Museveni as the 12thbest leader across the globe based on his influence on the country economy may not be so accurate since the recent economic growth rates are not impressive.
