Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Museveni castigates Makerere University students over deliberate refusal to attend lectures
The First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Kataaha Museveni castigates Makerere University students for what she calls the deliberate refusal to attend lectures claiming that there is an ongoing strike by the academic and non-teaching staff.
Museveni says there is no strike at Makerere and that it is students rendering their lecturers idle since they do not go to campus to study.
Her comments follow a statement from the Makerere University Vice Chancellor Prof Barnabas Nawangwe who said Lectures are going on normally weary the media as “fake news” for reporting the impact of the strike.
