Meet Makerere University’s Best Male Graduand who Painted Hall Rooms and Cleaned Restaurants for Food.
The 70th graduation at Uganda’s oldest university Makerere ,has kicked off today Tuesday Jan 14,2020 and it will last for four days,leaving 13,509 graduands ready to further with this changing world.
As degrees and diplomas are awarded,with 50.5% out of the graduands being female and 49.5% male, it is motivating to visit how different graduands struggled throughout their campus life.
Steven Tuuti, who has been pursuing a Bachelor of Adult and Community Education from the College of Education and External Studies (CEES) scored a CGPA of 4.82, becoming the best male graduand of this 70th graduation.
He went through tough times which subjected him to ‘Willingly and Wisely’ cleaning restaurants and painting halls rooms for food because his father,a grade 3 primary teacher in Budaka district eastern Uganda was not able to satisfyingly raise all basic needs so Tuuti has sometimes been helped by ‘Understanding and Human’ lecturers.
He is optimistic for a brighter future as well as inspiring many.
Makerere University started in 1922.
