Mbarara Taskforce Scared Of Looming Lockdown, Tracing Contacts Becomes A Challenge
Mbarara Mbarara district Covid-19 task force is scared of a looming second lockdown due to public failure to comply with the existing guidelines on COVID-19 including hand washing, social distance and wearing masks.
Mbarara last week picked two COVID-19 confirmed cases that had been hosted in two separate hotels and their primary contacts in three different hotels, which are currently closed for 14 days and staff quarantined.
The hotels that have since been closed are Rwampara Suites, Leisure Park International, African guest house, Golden Monkey guest house and Acacia Hotel all found in Kakoba division Mbarara City.
Dr. Peter Sebutinde, the Mbarara district Health Officer says tracing and profiling all primary and secondary contacts and their contacts is difficult but it must be done to avoid community spread.
Mbarara regional referral hospital currently (August 5, 2020) has 8 coronavirus patients because out of 37 received, 29 recovered and were discharged including Ugandans and foreign cases.
