According to Dr. Celestine Barigye the hospital director, the hospital receives about 2000 cases of epilepsy yearly and about 45 cases weekly mostly children.
Dr. Barigye says that as the hospital they have been having a challenge with people suffering with epilepsy due to lack of a special place to handle them and end up mixing them with those of psychiatric problems and he is optimistic that with this new ward, epilepsy cases will be handled.
