Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital Runs out of COVID-19 Funds
Mbarara regional referral hospital director, Dr Celestine Barigye has called on government to provide more funds to support the hospital in combating COVID-19 pandemic because the hospital has run out of funds as the shs270 million has been consumed in three months.
Speaking to crooze fm, Barigye revealed that the 270 million they had obtained was meant for three months which have elapsed so they need more funds to sustain activities of the hospital in the fight against the pandemic for the next three months cluster.
Dr Barigye has however appreciated government for how it is responding in the fight against the invisible enemy as well as how the people in Mbarara are trying to cooperate with the task force teams.
Dr. Barigye has further implored members of the public not to relax in adhering to the guidelines which could create chances of COVID-19 spread.
Fighting the pandemic was previously hampered by poor transportation due to the lockdown, and other challenges which have been addressed since easing of the lockdown and curfew.
