Mbarara police arrests two people over murder
The police in Mbarara City has arrested two people in connection to the murder of Joseph Barugahare a resident of Kyera village in Birere sub county Isingiro district.
According to Samson Kasasira the Rwizi Region Police spokesperson, the duo is Richard Bangirana and Asasira Beatrice who were earlier seen assaulting the deceased over land wrangles.
Barugahare’s body was first seen by Muhammad Byekwaso a resident of Nyamitanga cell in Mbarara city today as he headed for Juma prayers.
“He saw a dead body of a man only in underpants lying near the latrine and informed us for action” Kasasira said.
The Police found the body with a deep cut on the right foot and observed other external violence marks according to Kasasira.
“The body was removed and taken to Mbarara Regional Refferal Hospital Mortuary for postmortem” he added.
Preliminary findings indicate that land wrangles could have been the main cause of this murder.
Police inquiries are currently at Hand at Mbarara Central Police station under file number CRB 412/2021.
