Mbarara district Kadhi Sheikh Abdallah Mukwaya has asked muslims and the general public to adhere to COVID-19 prevention guidelines as muslims celebrate Eid al-Adha tomorrow Friday, July 31, 2020.
Speaking to crooze fm, Sheikh Mukwaya cautioned the muslims against being selfish and advised that they should always share the small they have.
‘You slaughter an animal, you get three parts with one for you, one for the needy and one for friends and relatives,’ he added.
The muslims have also been asked to pray and rejoice in their homes despite the current pandemic which has brought the world to its knees.
Eid al-Adha, also called Eid Qurban, is the second of two Islamic holidays celebrated worldwide each year, and considered the holier of the two. It honors the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ismael as an act of obedience to God’s command.
It’s celebrated by sacrificing sheep, cow, goat, buffalo or camel and Eid prayers.
