Man in Rukiga found dead, days after residents wanted to lynch him,

A man has been found dead after he was accused of murdering his divorced wife, a resident of Rwempisi village, Burime parish, Rwamucucu Sub County in Rukiga district.

The body of Tito Okello was discovered on the hill of Kahama in Burime parish, Rwamucucu Sub County by residents who passersby.

Last week on Thursday, police used teargas and live bullets to foil a planned move by angry residents who wanted to lynch Tito from his home, accusing him of assaulting his divorced wife identified as Viola Tumwijukye to death.

The Rwamucucu Sub County LCIII chairperson Deus Behangana said that since Tumwijukye’s death, Tito has been hiding until he was discovered dead.

Behangana said that they suspect that the deceased could have committed suicide by poisoning.
