Kitatta Defence Case Opens today at the Army court in Makindye
Jailed Boda-Boda 2010 Patron Abudallah Kitatta will today 7th/January start giving his Defence on how he acquired Guns, Ammunitions and Military Attires, he was allegedly arrested with at Vine Hotel in Wakaliga a Kampala suburb early last year 2018.
On 17th/December/2018, Lt. Gen Andrew Gutti the Chairman- General Court Martial at Makindye ordered Kitatta and others to defend themselves on charges of unlawful possession of firearms , ammunitions and Military attires.
This was reached after the 7 Member Panel of UPDF Officers he Chairs, unanimously agreed that Kitatta and nine of his co-accused persons have a case to answer, and must offer an explanation to the Nation on how they acquired the Government Stores which are a Monopoly of the UPDF.
Evidence of four Prosecution Witnesses showed that Kitatta was found in possession of a golden pistol at the said Hotel, that Kitatta also owned a motor vehicle Reg.No. UAK 135B in which an SMG riffle with live ammunitions was found among other exhibits.
Kitatta and his group spent the Festive Season on remand at Makindye Military barracks and Luzira prison respectively, and return to Court today.
