Kaweesi murder case pushed till next month
The International Crimes Division of the High court has set 17th/August/2020 as the Pre-trial date of the eight people who are accused of being behind the brutal murder of the then AIGP Late Andrew Felix Kaweesi.
The former Police Spokesperson Andrew Felix Kaweesi, was gunned down in March/2017 together with his body guard Kenneth Erau and driver Godfrey Wambewa.
Judge Duncan Gaswaga, who presided over the court hearing, has set the said date after the Assistant DPP Lino Anguzu informed the court of how they have disclosed 95 Percent of Prosecution’s intended evidence to the Defence Team.
Prosecution has also informed the court of how it intends to amend charges against the accused persons on that date and present its application on how the 30 witnesses in this case are going to be protected.
The accused persons are Yusuf Mugerwa, Bruhan Balyejusa, Josha Kyambadde, Jibril Kalyango , Yasin Nyanzi and Hassan Kasujja, Abdul Rashid Mbaziira and Alamandhan Higenyi who are indicted for murder, terrorism and aggrevated robbery which prosecution alleges were committed on 17th/March 2017 at Kulambiro in Nakawa Division.
